Spritz Spritz 〰️ PIBE BEAUTY 〰️
It is said that the final step of getting dressed is a spritz of fragrance, with some feeling naked without. Fragrance can act as an instant mood-lifter, recalling certain comforts and tightly tied memories so that we can be transported back in a single spritz.
Selecting a new fragrance is a delicate dance, understanding the complex top, heart and base notes that are beautifully blended and bottled. Often, we find ourselves thinking like Goldilocks when choosing a scent, testing out; fruity and sweet, floral and fresh, or musky and rich, before sniffing the one that's…. just right.
As the seasons shift so can your signature smell, as after all, who doesn’t want to be asked.. ‘what is that perfume you’re wearing?’ So, for those wanting something different and a little special, here at PIBE we have curated a list of boutique fragrances, each wonderful in their own way.
Creed Wind Flowers, £260 for 75ml
The House of Creed is held in high regard amongst avid perfumer lovers. A luxury French perfume house established in 1760 that has created some of the most well-known artisan scents such as; Aventus and Love in White. Now the brand has launched their latest feminine fragrance Wind Flowers, that has been a full five years in the making. Created by Master Perfumer Olivier Creed, the scent is inspired by the flowing movement of a dancer in the air. With graceful opening notes of sweet jasmine and Tunisian orange, swiftly followed by strong jasmine flowers and tuberose petals. Finishing off with delicate notes of sandalwood and creamy praline, all to make the fragrance sparkle.
If you often reach for fresh and floral perfumes then this is the choice for you. Wind Flowers simply smells elegant and with each spritz onto your bare skin, the notes react with your body's chemistry and you realise this is unlike any floral you have worn before. Try spraying the bottle onto damp skin post-shower as moisture will give the scent something to hold on to, making this last and last.
La Perla Invisible Touch, £88 for 30ml
Talking of feeling naked without fragrance, luxury lingerie brand La Perla has created a collection of alluring perfumes to match that feeling of when lingerie caresses your skin. Intrigued? Invisible Touch is a scent for the curious. Described as woody yet floral, sparkling pink pepper, rose petals and ylang-ylang are blended with sensual tones of patchouli and warm musk to create a sheer fragrance that smells like a rich yet delicate cashmere jumper.
This perfume is light yet clings to your skin and is perfect for scent layering. Spritz it alone or wear it underneath other interchangeable La Perla scents so that you can create a fragrance that is truly personal. Housed in a petal pink bottle with a daisy yellow cap, fit for any dressing table. The perfume is also vegan, refillable and sustainable - so what’s not to love?
Tom Daxon FUYU, £175 for 100ml
Any avid perfume collector will have sniffed one of the black capped bottles by Tom Daxon in their time. Established in 2013, this British fragrance house is known for its artisan unisex blends and weighty square bottles that are produced on a family-run, father-daughter perfumery.
So, if you favour a musky scent then this could be an addition for you. Fuyu by Tom Daxon can be described as a fresh musk. Think of ripe and creamy white peach combined with jasmine, iris and a mix of powdery musks and aromatic cedarwood. A true ‘skin scent’ that is undoubtedly cosy and completely addictive to spritz. Make sure to do so on your pulse points; behind your ears, base of your neck, wrists and behind your knees to let the natural heart in these nooks intensify the scent.
Lalique Soleil Vibrant, £100 for 100ml
René Lalique, the French master of luxury glassware, turned his artist's hand to perfume in 1907 and the rest has been history. The House of Lalique is now adding to its spectrum of beautiful scents with the new Soleil Vibrant fragrance, a must-have for any sun child at heart. This scent was created for those with a wild side, free, radiant and obsessed with smelling as delicious as golden sun-soaked skin during high summer.
With an ingredient list delicious enough to eat, juicy pear, bergamot essence and zesty ginger are blended with warm saffron and Indian jasmine. All brought together by smooth sandalwood and rich bourbon vanilla. Housed in a sun-shaped bottle, the overall scent holds the heat of a summer's day when sprayed generously onto your skin. Leaving you feeling wild and feminine as if you were dancing outside at golden hour. Not to mention the ingredients are carbon renewable, biodegradable and ethically sourced, so by also being kind to the planet, this is a happy fragrance to the core.
Medeau Safara, £95 for 50ml
Born and bred in the UK, fragrance house Medeau’s ethos is clean perfumery through and through. This promise means their fragrances have a conscious ingredient list, are 100% vegan with no toxic ingredients, dyes or endocrine disruptors. Now that is clean.
Safara is perfect if you don’t want your scent to wear you and be overpowering. Subtle yet unfitting and energising this scent captures the essence of a peaceful country garden. Boasting beautiful top notes of floating water lilies with a dash of grapefruit, followed by heart notes of magnolia and milky tuberose. While balancing on a base of a molecular vintage lipstick accord with vanilla and added sandalwood, to give a slight sweetness to this already lush scent. Think English summertime, bottled.
